Who we are and what we do

Cutting Edge Mowers is a family business based in Nottingham beside the M1 J26. We provide repairs, servicing, restoration and expert advice for domestic and mid sized commercial lawnmowers. We are also specialists in servicing and sharpening cylinder mowers, providing a special sharpening service giving a “scissor edge” which enables the reduction of future sharpening costs while prolonging an excellent cut. We also sharpen hand and powered garden tools including hedge trimmers, shears, and secateurs etc working with a sharpening specialist company.

As professional engineers and mower enthusiasts we treat each machine with special care and attention. Any work needed or requested is carried out with passion and diligence and we also enjoy imparting our expertise to our clients with the aim of helping them keep their own lawns and lawnmowers in excellent condition. Our workshop is located between Nottingham City and the M1. This ideal location means we can arrange collection and return to areas around Nottingham and Derby and further away by special arrangement.

Timescale for servicing and repair

The time the work takes varies, with our target for servicing and sharpening being 2-4 weeks. The longer being for the sharpening cutting cylinders. However, the COVID19 pandemic and BREXIT have caused severe disruptions in the availability of spare parts which still impacts us now, causing considerable delays. We will attempt to keep you informed about your mower as the work progresses when we become aware of delays arising. In the case of a faulty machine, we ask for a fee to diagnose the solution of the faults and provide you with an estimated cost for their remedy and, if possible, give a timescale. The fee goes towards the cost of the work when undertaken.
